Last week we cleared a three-bedroom terraced house near Fratton, Portsmouth. The family had already taken what they wanted keeping; everything else — furniture, white goods, loft contents, garden shed — needed to go before the estate agent's photos on Friday.

We started at 8am with a two-person crew and a full tipper. Dust sheets down, loft first, then bedrooms, living room, kitchen and finally the shed. By 3pm the property was empty and swept, and we emailed the waste transfer note the same evening.

We sort loads like this so that as much as possible is reused or recycled — usable furniture goes to reuse partners, metal is scrapped, wood is chipped and the remaining general waste is baled for energy recovery.

If you're preparing a Portsmouth property for sale or clearing after a bereavement, we quote from photos over WhatsApp and can usually book you in the same week.
