How much does waste clearance cost?+
We price according to the volume and type of waste, access, labour and disposal costs. Sofa collection starts from £60, mattress disposal from £50 and fridge or freezer collection from £80. Every customer receives a personalised fixed quotation before work begins.
Can you collect today?+
Yes — we offer same-day collection across Portsmouth, Havant, Fareham, Waterlooville, Gosport, Southsea, Hayling Island and the wider Hampshire area. Book by 10am for the best chance of a same-day slot, seven days a week.
Are you licensed?+
Yes. Hampshire Waste Clearance Services is fully licensed by the Environment Agency (Waste Carrier Licence CBDU165419) and covered by £5 million public liability insurance. Every job comes with a legal waste transfer note.
Do you recycle?+
Yes. Every load is hand-sorted at our Hampshire depot and we recycle, reuse or donate wherever possible — through our licensed recycling partners for wood, metal, appliances and green waste. You receive a legal waste transfer note for every collection.
Do I need to be home?+
No. If the items are accessible (front garden, side alley, garage), we're happy to collect while you're at work. We'll send you photos of the cleared job and take card payment over the phone.
What items can't you remove?+
We can remove almost anything — furniture, appliances, garden waste, builders rubble, mattresses and general household junk. We aren't licensed for asbestos, clinical or chemical waste, but we can recommend a specialist partner.
How do I pay?+
We accept card, bank transfer and cash. Payment is taken once the job is finished and you're happy. No deposits, no hidden fees — the price we quote is the price you pay.
Are you cheaper than a skip?+
In most cases, yes — often 30–40% cheaper. There's no permit, no waiting, no lifting, and you only pay for the space your waste actually takes up on the truck. We can normally quote against a skip price on WhatsApp within minutes.
Do you clear single items?+
Yes. We collect single sofas starting from £60, single mattresses starting from £50 and single fridges/freezers starting from £80. Bundle multiple items and the per-item price drops further.
Do you take fridges and freezers?+
Yes. Fridges and freezers must be handled by a licensed WEEE recycling facility under F-gas regulations — we collect the unit and pass it to our licensed WEEE recycling partner, including American-style units and chest freezers.
Can you collect a mattress?+
Yes. Single, double, king and super king mattresses starting from £50, including divan bases. Mattresses are sent to licensed recycling facilities — never fly-tipped.
Do you clear sofas with no fire label?+
Yes. Sofas without a fire label need to go through a licensed disposal route (councils won't take them). We're set up for exactly that.
Can you clear a full house in a day?+
In most cases, yes. A standard 2–3 bed house clearance is completed in a single day by a two-person crew. Larger properties or probate clearances may run to a second day — we'll tell you before you book.
Do you handle probate clearances?+
Yes. We work discreetly with executors, solicitors and family members — sorting keepsakes, donating usable items to local charities and clearing the property to a sale-ready standard.
Do you take builders waste and rubble?+
Yes. Bricks, rubble, plasterboard, timber and site packaging cleared without a skip permit. Ideal for renovations, extensions and small builds across Hampshire.
Do you clear garden waste?+
Yes. Grass, brambles, branches, turf, decking, fence panels and old sheds all cleared in a single visit. No garden waste subscription required.
Do you dismantle sheds and garages?+
Yes. We dismantle timber, metal and concrete outbuildings, remove every last piece and leave the ground level and swept.
Can I get a fixed quote before you arrive?+
Yes — always. Send a photo on WhatsApp and Jason will personally reply with a firm, fixed price. The price we quote is the price you pay.
Do you work evenings and weekends?+
Yes. We collect seven days a week, 7am–8pm, including Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays at no extra charge.
Do you serve commercial clients?+
Yes. Shops, offices, restaurants, letting agents and construction sites across Hampshire — one-off or scheduled collections, waste transfer notes on every job.
Who will turn up at my door?+
Jason and his own uniformed crew — trained in-house, in a branded Hampshire Waste Clearance Services truck. No subcontractors, no agency drivers. If a DBS certificate is required for your property (letting agents, care providers, sensitive sites), please ask when booking and we'll confirm what we can provide for the assigned crew.

Do you provide a waste transfer note?+
Yes. Every clearance — domestic or commercial — comes with a fully compliant waste transfer note, so you're covered under the Environment Agency's duty of care regulations.
What insurance do you have?+
We carry £5 million public liability insurance and full goods-in-transit cover. Certificates available on request for commercial or letting-agent customers.
Can I book by phone or does it have to be online?+
Whichever you prefer — call, WhatsApp, text, email or the online quote form. Jason personally handles every enquiry.
Do you charge extra for stairs or difficult access?+
No. Our quote includes all lifting, carrying and loading — including flats, lofts, tight staircases and long carries.
How quickly can you respond to a quote request?+
We'll review your enquiry and get back to you as soon as possible during working hours (7am–8pm, 7 days a week), including WhatsApp photo quotes.
